Lost Dutchman Wallets Compared: Which Model Should You Buy?

This guide is based on the brands' published product pages and retailer listings as checked in October 2026, not on hands-on testing. Prices and stock change, so confirm the current details on each brand's site before you buy. Quick answer: For most people, the Franklin 2 ($75). Smallest: the Mini Franklin ($50). Most cash: the Big Finn 2 ($125) or the Dad Wallet ($175). For non-US banknotes: the Franklin in its international size ($75). For travel: the Huckleberry passport wallet ($175).

Lost Dutchman Leather makes about a dozen wallet designs, and several share almost the same size. The easiest way to choose is to start with how you carry: how many cards, how much cash, and which pocket.

Pick by how you carry

A few cards, almost no cash

Mini Franklin ($50) is the smallest and cheapest: 6–8 cards, folded cash and no stitching. If you want a stitched look, the Thin Finn ($75) is the slimmest of the Finnigan family, and the Snap Finn ($75) adds a brass snap so nothing slides out.

Around ten cards plus some cash

This is where most people land, and the choice is between two shapes. The Franklin 2 ($75) gives cash its own side pocket for up to 15 bills, plus a quick-access back pocket. The Original Finnigan ($75) is a simpler flap card holder with folded cash. If you carry cash regularly, the Franklin 2 is the more practical design. Read our full Franklin 2 review for the details.

Lots of cash, unfolded

The Big Finn 2 ($125) holds up to 10 cards and 10+ bills in a side-access cash compartment, with an optional quick-access back pocket. The Dad Wallet ($175) is the classic choice if you want a traditional bifold with six card pockets and a full-length bill pocket for 10–20 notes.

Front pocket

Any model under about 4" wide works in a front pocket. The Mini Franklin and the Finnigan family (3.75" × 2.5–2.625") are the most comfortable there.

Non-US banknotes

Choose the Franklin in its international size (3.25" × 3.75", fits notes up to 156 × 82 mm). The Franklin 2 has no international version.

Travel

The Huckleberry ($175) holds one or two passports plus 4–6 cards. The Tall version fits a pocket notebook and has a pen slot.

As a gift

The Franklin 2 Kit ($105) bundles the wallet with a keychain, a catch-all tray and leather balm, with optional monogramming. For a personal touch, the "create your own" versions let you pick the leather and thread colour.
