Handy 2 Accessories Guide: What Is Worth Buying, What to Skip, and When a Bundle Pays

The Handy 2 ships with what you need to start: a Gen 3 TrueGrip sleeve, a Dot Band, a ClickOn holder and a USB-C cable (the Pro adds a sleeve dryer and travel pouch). The Handy store then lists dozens of add-ons. Some solve real problems; others duplicate something you already own. This guide sorts them, with prices from the US store at the time of writing. For the device itself — Standard vs Pro, shipping and returns — see our full The Handy review.
Worth it: the hands-free desk mount ($59)
If you buy one accessory, this is the one most owners add first. The Desk Mount Kit is an aluminium desk clamp (opens up to 60 mm, so it fits most desks) with an articulating arm that locks at any angle with a single knob and carries up to 2.5 kg. Rubber pads stop it marking the desk, and it folds flat for storage.
One detail the product page buries: on the original Handy, the mount needs a separate $35 Handsfree Cup to attach the device. The Handy 2 does not — it has mounting screws built in and attaches to the arm's standard 1/4-inch thread directly. If you see older guides saying you need the cup, they are written for the first-generation model.
Check before buying: the Fast Charger ($19)
The brand recommends its Fast Charger for the Handy 2, and on the Standard model — with a battery of roughly one hour — charging speed genuinely matters. But the requirement is a standard one: USB-C Power Delivery at 20 V / 3.25 A, i.e. 65 W. If you already own a 65 W USB-C PD charger, such as many laptop chargers, it meets the stated spec and the $19 charger is optional. If your only charger is a phone brick, buy it.
Small upgrades that make a difference
- Stretch Dot Band ($22 vs $17 for the standard Dot Band). Adds silicone grip pads and higher-elasticity fabric to the hook-and-loop strap. Worth the $5 if the standard band slips; works with the original Handy, Handy 2 and Handy 2 Pro.
- ClickOn holders. The Core Sleeve Holder ($19) comes in the box. The Long Sleeve Holder ($29) is only needed if you buy the longer sleeves, and the Extender ($25) only if you want extra reach. Do not buy these until you know you need them.
- Phone holder ($17). Useful only if you control the device from your phone during use; skip it if you use a computer or VR headset.
Care: cheap, and it protects the expensive part
Sleeves are TPE, which wears and can melt at high temperatures, and the warranty does not cover sleeves or bands at all. Basic care extends their life:
- Toy cleaner ($13) and a sleeve dryer ($15) — the dryer already comes with the Pro, so Standard owners are the ones who should consider it.
- Maintenance kit ($35) — not a cleaning kit: it contains lead screw grease, support rod oil, a brush and an applicator for lubricating the device's internal drive. Worth having for heavy users of a device that costs $299–499; occasional users can wait.
- Water-based lube ($14–17). The brand recommends water-based lube only, to limit sleeve wear. Any quality water-based lube works; theirs is not required.
- Lube warmer and dispenser ($34, listed down from $49). A comfort extra, not a necessity.
Sleeves: buy one more, not five
Every Handy sleeve fits every Handy model, from the $15 Gen1 sleeve to $37–39 textured designs and the $59 Silk sleeve. Since sleeves cannot be returned, the sensible approach is to use the included Gen 3 for a few weeks, then add a single second sleeve once you know what you want to change — tighter, longer or softer — instead of buying a set up front. Larger and heavier third-party sleeves are possible, but the brand warns they strain the motor.
The bundle maths
Bundles only save money if you would have bought every item in them. The clearest example is the H2 Most Wanted Bundle at $539: a Handy 2 Pro ($499), the desk mount ($59), the Stretch Dot Band ($22) and the Lips sleeve ($37). Bought separately, that is $617 — so the bundle saves $78, about 13%.
The rule of thumb:
- If you were going to buy the Pro and the desk mount anyway, the bundle is close to a free extra sleeve and band — take it.
- If you want the Standard Handy 2, or do not want a mount, the Pro bundle costs you more than buying what you need.
- For couples, the H2 Pleasure Pair ($559, listed down from $658) pairs the device with The Oh! vibrator; it only makes sense if both of you want a device.
A sensible shopping list
- Standard Handy 2 buyer: device ($299) + desk mount ($59) + Fast Charger only if you lack a 65 W charger ($19) + sleeve dryer ($15). About $373–392 — enough to cross the $144 US free-shipping line in one order.
- Pro buyer who wants hands-free: the Most Wanted Bundle ($539), then add care items later.
- Everyone: skip extra holders, phone mounts and sleeve sets until you have used the device for a while.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need the Handsfree Cup for the Handy 2?
No. The Handsfree Cup is for the original Handy. The Handy 2 has built-in mounting screws and attaches to the desk mount directly.
Can I use my own charger?
The stated spec is USB-C PD 20 V / 3.25 A (65 W). A charger meeting that rating meets the brand's recommendation; a low-power phone charger will charge much more slowly.
Can accessories be returned?
No. The store does not accept returns of accessories or sleeves, for hygiene reasons, so buy add-ons only once you know you need them.
Do old sleeves fit the Handy 2?
Yes. The brand states the Handy 2 works with every Handy sleeve.
